Update From Pastor Mike ::

Praise the Lord!  After many days and hours of sweet and labor the Christmas Extravaganza is over.  The Lord blessed the Potter's Wheel with 49 venders and lots of chiken and dumplins.  The Potter's wheel was able to raise in excess of $5000, and for that we say "Thank you Jesus"    The excitment was good and the entertainment was fantastic with our little P. W. dancers.   There pictures can bee seen on the web also.

Now we will be gearing up for the big  turkey give away after service on November 22.  This will be the biggest service of the year for us as the church will be packed out. I pray the Lord send many blessings to those who helped buy the turkeys for this year.  Because of you many families will eat a wonderful Thansgiving dinner with us.

The teen girls just got back from a cnferance on (GAP)  "Girls About Purity."  They were excited and seem to be more committed to staying pure before marriage.

Our diner and clothing bank are in full swing for the winter months.  120 winter coats were given away so far and the bank is in good shape for others to recieve.  also, the diner is doing well and so far the food is holding out.  But, why shouldn't it,  God is in charge.

Please keep praying for us and if God so directs become partners with the Potter"s Wheel.

We are plowing new ground every day.

Gods love to you,

Pastor Mike Ballard

Letter From Pastor Mike Ballard ::

Dear Friend Of The Potter’s Wheel Ministries,

As we have faced an economic downfall in the Potter's Wheel contributions, I still feel encouraged that all is well.  Even when everything around us seems to be going south, so to speak, God is still in charge.  The Christian has been challenged heavily in the last few years, but as God's children we must rise back up and take the stand for the kingdom which is at hand.

I look back into Bible history and see that God's children, the Jews, have been in captivity many times.  However, when thy called on God, and they obeyed his commandments, God always restored them.

In the book of Ezra, we find the return of the Jews to their homeland after being in captivity for seventy years.  Upon their arrival to their homeland God instructed them to build a temple where they could worship.  The children of Israel went through much discouragement, but after receiving encouragement from Haggai and Zechariah, they returned to the task of building the temple.  The message of the prophets still speaks today, encouraging us to continue building the church.   The enemy of our soul has tried to discourage the church today, but the child of God knows that the greater one lives in him.  What he also knows is: "Our God shall supply our every need.."

As the Jews set out to build the temple, they brought in their silver and gold and goods in support of the project.  Ezra, chapter 1, also says: they gave "freewill offerings."  That is where we are at today at the Potter's Wheel.  We are continuing to carry on the vision of the Lord to feed those who are hungry, clothe those that are needy, educate the school dropouts, and teach the mothers of the city how to properly raise and care for their babies.  We are also breaking the generational curse of the youth in this area, by prayer, and by educating them to the fact that they can make it in this world, and they don't have to depend on handouts.

My vision from God, to restore the downfall in our contributions, is to ask all those that could, to give a "free will offering" of $1,000.00, over a period of the next year.  If just fifty people would commit, we can make up our deficit and keep right on going in the face of opposition from the enemy, and continue the work of the Lord which He started at the Potter's Wheel almost six years ago.

I will not be taking a salary for the next year, but we do need the finances to keep our staff on board.  There has never been a time in my Christian life that God has failed in using His people to complete His work.  So, as I write my vision to you, I ask that you prayerfully ask God to help you help him.  I know that some can't do the actual work to keep the Potter's Wheel temple going, but by your generous giving we can continue to live out Matthew 25:40, for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Today, I pray Luke 6:38 over the lives of all who give into the kingdom of God, whether at the Potter's Wheel or elsewhere in the ministry of the Lord.   I have now shared my vision as God instructed, and I leave it in His hands.  Be blessed and know that I love you.

In Serving Christ,

Pastor Mike Ballard
