GED Classes

Need Addressed:

Studies show that persons with a high school diploma earn more than those without a high school diploma. In The Potter’s Wheel census track, 57.8% of individuals between the ages of 18 and 24 do not have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Program Description:

GED assessments and instruction are offered twice a week at The Potter’s Wheel. Initially each student is assessed to determine areas needing more study. When a student is deemed ready to take the GED test, The Potter’s Wheel provides the necessary fees for the test.

Mission Alignment:

GED Classes align to The Potter’s Wheel Ministries’ mission by meeting educational needs among inner-city Evansville residents.

Goal/Impact:

The goal of the GED program is to improve educational and employment outcomes among low-income Evansville residents.

  2. At least 12 students will earn their GED.

Data Source(s):

Attendance sheets for each class will be maintained. Monthly reports will verify class attendance, completion, and GED testing.
