GED CLASSES

Need Addressed:  Studies show that persons with a high school diploma earn more than those without a high school diploma.

Program Description:  GED assessments and instruction are offered twice a week at The Potter’s Wheel. Initially each student is assessed to determine areas needing more study. When a student is deemed ready to take the GED test, The Potter’s Wheel provides the necessary fees for the test.

Mission Alignment:  GED Classes align to The Potter’s Wheel Ministries’ mission by meeting educational needs among inner-city Evansville residents.

Goal/Impact:  The goal of the GED program is to improve educational and employment outcomes among low-income Evansville residents.

Outputs:  Attendance sheets for each class will be maintained. Monthly reports will verify class attendance. A minimum of 80% of the students who pass the GED pre-test will earn their GED certificate.

Outcomes:  The GED program will improve the educational level, employment prospects, income potential, and self esteem for low-income Evansville residents.
